If you have
been searching for a taste of German-American cuisine,
then look no further than RiverStreet Grill located on the
grounds of RiverCrest Golf Club. The RiverStreet Grill
has a cozy, well-appointed dining room as well as an
outdoor dining patio. Restaurant Manager and Chef Ingolf
Schulter who is nicknamed “Footsie,” can serve a wide
repertoire of dishes, both American and German. We have
an upscale dining menu. We have daily blue plates, soups,
and salads for lunch, fresh seafood, steaks, fresh
mussels, oysters, crab cakes, and more. RiverStreet Grill
serves all the favorite German items all the time. The
specialties include such items as Wiener schnitzel, jaegar
schnitzel, bratwurst, pork shanks, and others.
RiverStreet Grill holds full ABC permits for liquor.
Schluter
learned cooking from culinary schools in Europe and
brought his talents to America over 35 years ago. From
1969 to 1985 he owned four restaurants in the Hilton Head,
South Carolina, area. He then moved to Hickory and bought
the Old Heidelberg Restaurant, running the establishment
for eight years.
Assistant Chef
Paul Allen a native of Hickory, North Carolina joins
Schluter. Paul has been a chef for the last 10 years and
holds a degree in Culinary Arts and Restaurant
Management. Paul was a chef at the University of North
Carolina at Wilmington, and Catawba Country Club here in
Hickory.
RiverStreet
Grill is open for lunch 7 days a week from 11:30 to 2:30
p.m. RiverStreet Gill also serves dinner Thursday
through Saturday, 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Reservations are
suggested for dinner guest. Schluter notes the grill is a
perfect place for bridal lunches, business and private
parties.
In addition to the dining room, the grill also
has a golf snack bar window open all day long for
